Students are learning about Indigenous peoples as we nurture multicultural awareness and respect for diversity. They will build competency in explaining why peoples' beliefs, values, worldviews, experiences and roles give them different perspectives on people, places, issues or events.

This experience relates to the Catholic Principles of Learning, specifically: One (Catholic Education responds to Christ's desire "that they may all be one" - John 17.21 - in our belief of one body, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all), Love (Catholic Education calls us to witness that God is love; and therefore, recognizes the inherent dignity of every human person, especially the marginalized and most vulnerable) and Community (Catholic Education is inclusive and welcoming where every student is nurtured in developing a right relationship with God and others). . .  as well as our SFDS core values of : Learn and Serve.

There is no cost to parents for this field trip thanks to fundraising dollars that have been raised.
