On behalf of the Spring Fair Committee, we would like to express our sincere thanks to everyone who helped make this year's Spring Fair a resounding success! From volunteers to attendees—we appreciate you!
This year’s team leads were:
Roberta Fasano – A Kindergarten parent who enthusiastically took on the ticket sales team. She led with confidence, organizing sales at the church, the school, and even at Highgate Mall! On the day of the event, her team was one of the busiest as guests arrived non-stop. Roberta also stepped up to manage difficult customer situations with grace.
Janessa Templo – Led the Games Team. From the start, she and her husband showed incredible creativity to offer the best carnival games possible. The Games Team was especially challenging to coordinate on event day due to volunteer gaps, but Janessa pulled through. She walked over 17,000 steps that day—just imagine how many laps around the field that is!
Kathryn Kazun – Our Food Team lead. From the very beginning, Kathryn was organized and proactive in coordinating with food vendors. As a second-year Food Lead, she’s now a pro! She smoothly handled drinks, popcorn, and cotton candy sales on the day of the event, along with all food truck matters. A big thank you to parent volunteer Vivian Leung who ran the popcorn machine all day!
Daniel Goncalves – Led the Logistics Team. From the 6:00 a.m. setup to the 6:45 p.m. takedown, Daniel was there. His strength and stamina made him perfect for this role!
Lorenzo Villanueva – Our Security Team lead. Despite a demanding full-time healthcare job, Lorenzo brought his team together to keep the event safe and ensure parking ran smoothly. This was his third year leading the team—he’s a true pro now!
Hannah Hwang – Another Kindergarten parent who stepped up as Volunteer Team Lead. Though she joined later, Hannah was highly organized and ensured all volunteers had their IDs, food, and drinks—and even tracked their volunteer hours.
Vince Suen – As Spring Fair Co-Coordinator, Vince was the right hand of the Lead Coordinator. She managed entertainment, games selection, food trucks, vendors, and more, and also supported other team leads on event day.
Rozelle Latorre – Our Marketing Pro! If you saw a yard sign, that was her doing. She went house to house and from one community centre to another to spread the word. Her energy and dedication are unmatched!
Melissa Chua – An SFDS alumna who never stopped supporting our school. Through her business Busybee Socials, she contributed to marketing efforts and helped coordinate student volunteers. She's our go-to!
Special thanks to:
Mr. Bencze, who returned to help Mr. Goncalves put away tables and chairs.
Our amazing emcees Mrs. Tiffany Tillman and Mr. Charles Botsio for keeping the program lively three years in a row!
Many volunteers stepped up on the day of the event—even those who didn’t need any more hours. Your love and service made this community event a true success. You know who you are—please know that we deeply appreciate you!
To Mrs. Castro, who came back to school to assist the ticket sales team—thank you!
Thank you also to Mr. Gavin Ko and Mr. Randolph Yuen who brought to life the vision of Franco Caligiuri: our first (and hopefully annual) outdoor 3 on 3 basketball tournament! Many alumni, some parishioners, and a team of grade 7 students took part; everyone was kept alert and on their game with the help of our parent DJ, Mr. Jeff Jose and his inspiring music!
And most importantly, we give thanks to God. Without His answered prayers, we wouldn’t have had the beautiful weather we enjoyed last weekend!
