Grade 7 Girls Finish First!
We are so proud of our volleyball team and they way they played with focus and ferocity at the tournament on Friday, hosted by Our Lady of Mercy School. Despite finishing last in their division of round robin play, the girls came back and ended up bringing home two trophies for display in our hallway. Be sure to have a look at Student/Parent/Teacher Conferences.
This achievement can be attributed to the way the girls treated one another with mercy when they encountered setbacks, respected their coaches, and learned over the course of the season how to improve their skills so they grew in confidence and could each make a contribution to the end result.
Gratitude and appreciation go to our parent coaches who showed community engagement by giving of their time in the service of helping the team improve: Mrs. Jessica Markic and Mrs. Darlene Witham, as well as to Mrs. Maria Wagner who coordinated entry into the tournament, all our parent drivers and supporters in the stands, Mrs. Carla Pereira who sponsored the team through the regular volleyball season and Mrs. Kimberly DiFrancesco and Ms Lauren Fernandez who provide extra practice time at our weekly clinics.
Finally, we thank Mr. Chinh Nguyen from OLM for coordinating the tournament and St. Thomas More Collegiate for providing the girls with a fantastic venue in which to play.
