As the parish website may not be up and running yet, please see this letter from Father Smith:
Parishioners of St. Francis de Sales,
One of the members of our office staff at the parish has come down with the flu. It has not yet been determined to be Covid-19. As a precautionary measure the Parish office will be closed for 14 days. Starting from Monday, March 16, 2020 all Masses will be cancelled immediately until further notice.
As entry to the church is via the parish office (because we have to keep the church locked for security reasons) the church will also be closed for 14 days.
Please do not forget to set time apart for prayer and spiritual nourishment during our Covid-19 crisis.
We will be sending out the bulletin via email. It will contain links to help children and adults with spiritual nourishment. Fr. Tomson and myself will continue to say daily Mass privately in which you will be remembered as always.
Please pray for an end to Covid-19 and for all those who are suffering from its effects. As Catholic Christians and good Canadians, we need to check up on one another. If you know of anyone who is living by themselves, please phone them and let them know they are not alone. Isolation can be hard to bear. Maybe they need groceries or medications that you are able to deliver. Please talk to friends and relations on a regular basis by all forms of communications, as this will relieve stress and the pain of separation.
May God Bless you and keep you healthy,
