James and the Giant Peach Jr. - Rehearsals
Thank you to all of the courageous students who auditioned for our spring production of James and the Giant Peach Jr. Cast members should have received their scripts and hopefully will take some time to read through the story and familiarize themselves with the show. You should have also received a letter outlining the commitment including the dates of the shows.
A reminder that our grade 4 and 5 classes will be the "chorus" for the shows, meaning they will be singing the songs, these will be rehearsed during class time starting in January.
Our first rehearsal will take place today from 3:15-4:20pm in the music room. Parents can pick up students by 4:30pm at the front doors. Rehearsals will continue weekly at this time on Thursday afternoons. Parents, please make sure that students are available each week to attend these important rehearsals. Though the show is far off, the time we have together is short, we are looking forward to productive rehearsals from now until March break. Extra rehearsals may be added after March break in the lead up to show time, every effort will be made to make this during school hours so as to not disrupt afternoon pickup schedules.
Ms. Walmsley has created a Google Classroom to share announcements and music with the cast, your child should have an invitation through their school email.
Backstage roles for grades 6 and 7 will be decided closer to the show dates. We are still looking for some parent volunteers however, especially in the area of costumes, props and set building. Please email Ms. Walmsley or Mrs. Wihak if you are interested.
