Students will take part in a prayer liturgy and view slides intended to help them link Ash Wednesday, the Beatitudes, the virtues we've studied so far, and our school core values in an effort to help them realize the many privileges they are blessed with. The liturgies will take place in the gym over the course of the morning with students attending in their learning cohorts.
Students are asked to have a substantial breakfast and pack a bigger than usual snack on this day, as they will only be eating 'bread and water' for lunch. The school will provide a Portuguese bun for each student. Thank you to those parents who have already made a donation through the Munchalunch program. Everyone else is asked to donate the price of what you ordinarily spend on lunch or a minimum of a toonie to at least coverr the cost of the buns. All proceeds go to the Holy Childhood Association. (In the past, our school has been able to donate close to $1000, thanks to our thoughtful community spirit.)
