Thanks to your fundraising dollars, the grade two students can grow in COMPETENCY as they practise how to:

Demonstrate curiosity and a sense of wonder about the world.

Make and record observations.

Experience and interpret the local environment.

They will learn about metamorphic and non-metamorphic life cycles of different organisms, the water cycle, water sources including local watersheds....all with the aim of grasping the big idea that:

LIVING THINGS HAVE LIFE CYCLES ADAPTED TO THEIR ENVIRONMENT.

The class will further develop the core competencies of COMMUNICATION (engaging with others; acquiring information, working collectively), THINKING (critical thinking - questioning and investigating; reflecting), PERSONAL AND SOCIAL (caring for the environment).

This connects to the Catholic Principles of Learning: Christ Centred (.....our faith in Christ is evident and permeates all facets of the educational environment) and Community (Catholic Education is inclusive and welcoming where every student is nurtured in developing a right relationship with God and others.)

It aligns with the development of our core values: LEARN, ENGAGE.
