    • Connection: Students will learn about the role of firefighters in keeping the community safe and the importance of teamwork and public service.
  2. Science – Matter & Energy (Fire Safety and Prevention)
    • Big Idea: Different forms of energy have different characteristics.
    • Connection: Students can explore how fire behaves, how it can be controlled, and the importance of fire safety in daily life.
      1. Physical & Health Education – Personal Safety & Injury Prevention
        • Big Idea: Learning about safety helps students develop lifelong skills to stay safe.
        • Connection: Firefighters will teach students about fire safety, emergency preparedness (e.g., Stop, Drop, and Roll), and how to respond in case of an emergency.
      2. Applied Design, Skills & Technologies (ADST) – Tools & Technology in Daily Life
        • Big Idea: Technologies are tools that extend human capabilities.
        • Connection: Students can see how firefighters use specialized equipment, such as fire trucks, hoses, and protective gear, to do their job effectively.

       

      It relates to: - Catholic Principles of Learning: One: Catholic Education responds to Christ’s desire “that they may all be one” (John 17.21) by integrating the various parts of what we learn into the coherent whole.
