This event has already occurred
This year, in keeping with COVID-19 safety protocols from the Archdiocese of Vancouver, students will not be receiving the mark of ashes on their foreheads as is customary. Instead, their classroom teacher will sprinkle ashes (that have been blessed by Father Mario) on the top of their heads, with no actual physical contact. This ritual will occur as part of a paraliturgy that explains the significance of the day as well as why we mark this day with a hunger lunch. The liturgies will take place in the gym over the course of the morning with students attending in their learning cohorts.
