International Students

Your child will feel at home in the ethnically diverse community at Saint Francis de Sales. We consider international students to be valuable additions to our community. By caring for and welcoming international students, our staff and students learn hospitality, friendship and diversity.

Acceptance Criteria

The student should have the basics of English, both spoken and written. We have a limited E.S.L. program at St. Francis de Sales School. After acceptance into St. Francis de Sales a student may be required to attend E.S.L. classes after school hours at an outside location. (at an additional cost)

How to Apply

To apply for admission to St. Francis de Sales School, please contact us or fill out an International Wait List Form.  Please complete the application form and return it to the school with the following additional documents:

• Your most recent transcript (in English) of all academic marks
• A copy of Health Insurance coverage (MSP)
• If residing in Canada, please attach a copy of your current Student Visa
• If residing in Canada, please attach a copy of your guardian’s Canadian Citizenship or Landed Immigrant document.

An appointment will be scheduled between the student applying, their guardian and the Principal of the school.

Tuition

Tuition is due upon acceptance into the school.  The cost is $ 11,000.00 per year (tuition fee) plus a $ 1,000.00 Administration fee (non-refundable).

The Administration fee includes Registration, Parent Participation fee, Student planner and school supplies.

This fee does not include the cost of the student’s uniform. The uniform is available for purchase through Neat Uniforms. Order information will be given.

Other incidental expenses may be incurred from time to time throughout the school year. e.g.: class activities, Outdoor Education (Gr. 7), charity events, fundraising etc.

Upon receipt of tuition, a Letter of Acceptance will be issued. The tuition is non-refundable.

Student Visa

For a student applying from outside the country, this letter will be sent to the applicant and they should apply for a Student Visa at their nearest Canadian Immigration office. This process can take 6 – 8 weeks. A copy of the Student Visa must be sent to St. Francis de Sales School as soon as it is received.

We have no dormitory facilities at St. Francis. The student should reside with an English speaking family.
